Madonna di Vitaleta Chapel
Protagonist of the most iconic landscapes of Tuscany and Italy, the Madonna di Vitaleta Chapel is a small jewel framed between two rows of cypresses. One of the most important attractions to see in Pienza.
Located less than 20 minutes from the Relais Osteria dell’Orcia, it can also be reached with a nice walk or by bike.

The chapel is located on a dirt road that leads from San Quirico d’Orcia to Pienza on the way towards Montepulciano. Along the SP146 road you will find a small sign on the right that will take you on a dirt road. After about 2km you only have to park your car and finish the last 500m by foot.
The main facade is covered in Rapolano stone which is characterized by a armonious rosy color.
This Chaptle is most probably of late Renaissance origin. The first historical documents knowned today date back to 1590. Madonna di Vitaleta is included in the territory of the Archdiocese of Siena-Colle di Val d’Elsa-Montalcino.
